Getting a nice tan when returning from vacation is the challenge for many of us. As a result, your first instinct is to bask in the sun on the beach or in a city park. Except that after the first day of exposure, it is the drama… Here you are sporting “pretty” sunburns. It happens to everyone, don’t panic. Here are some natural and above all simple actions and solutions to do without delay to soothe and repair your skin.
Sunburn: how to soothe and treat it?
We don’t see it coming, but it always ends up appearing. Despite all your efforts to prepare your skin for the first rays of the sun and your range of sun creams / oils, sunburn has caught up with you. It adorns your back, forehead, thighs, or even your entire body! You just have to touch it, to immediately climb the curtains (in a bad sense).
But what is a sunburn after all? It’s a 1st degree burn caused by overexposure of your skin to UVB and UVA rays. In other words, the upper layers of your epidermis suffer from too much sunlight. Your skin is therefore red, sensitive, you feel a sensation of heat.
To naturally treat this burn, no need to panic to the pharmacy from the neighborhood. Certain plants or foods have soothing virtues and act as real miracle natural remedies. Foods to pamper your skin

- Another possible option: Take out your blender and crush your melon with the seeds. Apply this mixture to the sunburned area and cover it all with a cloth or compresses. Leave on for about 15 minutes, patting gently. Vitamin A in melon has softening powers, while the seeds, rich in fatty acids, soften the skin attacked by the sun. Convenient, economical and efficient, isn’t it?
Little advice : when you eat a melon, keep the rinds and put them in the freezer. You can leave them for 3 or 4 days, and so if you get sunburned during your vacation, hop you can get your magic remedy!
Slices of tomatoes or cucumber
Don’t have a melon handy? No worries, the remedy works just as well with sliced tomatoes or cucumber.
Cut your tomato or cucumber into slices and apply them as is on your sunburn, for 15 to 20 minutes. In addition to being a source of vitamins and an antioxidant, they will refresh your skin and therefore relieve your sunburn.
The aloe vera
100% natural remedy, aloe vera gel is a natural moisturizer and above all a powerful anti-inflammatory. Renowned for its healing, regenerating and soothing properties, it is your perfect ally in summer.
Apply the gel directly to your sunburn by massaging. If the pain is too strong, let it sit in a layer, more or less thin, until your skin completely absorbs the product. To calm a sunburn, also head to your refrigerator, or go to the local supermarket to buy plain yogurts or cottage cheese.
Because of the probiotics they contain, yogurts and cottage cheese indeed have an anti-inflammatory action on the skin. It is enough to apply a thick layer, to leave it on for about fifteen minutes, then rinse everything with cool water. Your burns will be immediately refreshed and soothed.
Note: you can also do the same with thegreen clay, which is an effective anti-inflammatory and healing agent. Mix it with a little water then spread the paste on your skin. Leave it on for 2 hours, rinse it off and your redness will be gone.
Hydration: THE key to avoiding peeling
In case of sunburn, hydration is the key to not aggravating the dryness of your skin and preventing it from peeling. For that nothing better than shea butter and oils (olive, sweet almond, avocado, jojoba…). So after using one of the soothing natural remedies mentioned above, apply in a gentle massage, both during the day and for the whole night.

The skin therefore needs to be rehydrated to heal better. So remember to drink a lot more water than usual and eat waterlogged fruits like watermelon, melon or grapes.
PLEASE NOTE: If a few hours after exposure, small “bubbles”, sometimes even blisters, appear on your skin accompanied by a sharp pain, you are probably suffering from a second degree burn. Go to your doctor as soon as possible.
